Lasting Impacts
Often, students don’t realize the full impact Seattle Center Academy has on their lives until years later. Alumni share the influence it has had--and still has--for them:

Joe
Joe returned to Seattle Center Academy to mentor for three years and this year served as the Production Assistant on staff. He believes that Seattle Center Academy "taught me a lot about how much I love art....And it taught me that I like doing non-profit work and community service." Joe also credits the Academy with helping him be less shy and know how to interact with people with disabilities.

Patrick
Patrick returned to Seattle Center Academy as a volunteer Teacher Assistant. "I had never stepped foot on stage until Seattle Center Academy." He built on his experience by getting involved with Seattle Shakespeare Company, Seattle Public Theatre and even a company in Amsterdam. "Now I am doing all sorts of theatre, and I think I would like to do that when I get older."

Noah
Although he knew he enjoyed photography in general, Noah discovered black and white photography at Seattle Center Academy four years ago. Now, it’s his passion. "I am going to Ohio University this fall, which is one of the top three photo-journalism programs in the country."

Geoff
Geoff attended Seattle Center Academy in 1994 and came back to mentor for five years. "And from there it just sort of piqued my interest in the special needs population." Now, Geoff is a Teacher’s Assistant in an elementary school’s special needs classroom, a direct result of his experience with the Academy: "it sort of charted my course...."
